- Angle Brackets
- HTML tags appear in pairs and are enclosed in angle brackets
- Flash
- A high-impact multimedia creation tool for creating Web page content
- Home Page
- A.) The main or primary web page for anything or anyone B.) The first web page you see as you start up your Web browser
- HTML Page
- Any page that is created in HTML and can be places on the WWW
- Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)
- Tags created within a Web document that gives instructions to a Web browser. These instructions determine the look and feel of a Web page.
- Internet Explorer
- One of two major Web browsers used to view information on the WWW. Internet Explorer was created by Microsoft.
- Java
- A programming language that creates applets which can be added to Web pages
- JavaScript
- More powerful than HTML. Allows a programmer to add programming features to a Web page without having to know a programming language.
- Mosaic
- The first Web browser that allowed pictures and sound to accompany text on a Wb page. Created in 1992.
- Netscape Navigator
- One of two major Web browsers used on the Internet today. It was created in 1994, and allowed additional features like animation to a Web page.
- Web Browser
- Application that allows users to interface with different operating systems and have view information on the WW. It allows Web page developers to have Javascript compiled and interpreted "on the fly."
- Web Page
- Any page created in HTML that can be placed on the WWW.
- Web Site
- Consists of a series of Web pages that can be linked to other Web sites on the Internet. Web sites are stored on a Web server.
- Welcome Page
- An introduction page to a Web site. Often includes the owner's email and address.
- Internet
- A global netwrok connecting computers that scare data, news or information.
- World Wide Web
- A system of Internet servers that support documents specially formatted in the mark-up language HTML.
- Web Server
- A computer that stores web pages and delivers them to your browser upon request.
- Internet Service Provider
- A company that provides access to the Internet for a fee.
- Browser
- A software application that locates, reads and displays web pages.
- Operating System
- Most important program that runs of a computer, manages the computer's memory, software, etc. (Ex: Windows 7)
- Designates the beginning and end of an HTML Web page.

- Marks the beginning and end of information that will be displayed on a Web page.
