- Dogma
- The revealed tachings of Chris proclaimed by the fullest extent of the exercise of the authority of the Church's Magisterium.
- Unity of the Church
- The gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church whereby is ti undivided in itself and yet distinct from other things.
- Hierarchy
- The apostles and their successors, the college of bishops, to whom Christ gave the authority to teach, sanctify, and rule the Church in his name
- Infallibility of the Church
- The gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church whereby the pastors of the Church, the pope and bishops in union with him, can definitively proclaim a doctrine of faith or morals for the belief of the faithful, and that proclamation is free from all error.
- Salvation
- The forgiveness of sins and restoration of friendship with God, which can be done by God alone.
- Purgatory
- A state of final purification after death and before entrance into heaven for those who died in God's friendship but were only imperfectly purified.
- Particular Judgment
- The eternal retribution received by each soul at the moment of death, in accordance with that person's faith and works.
- Pope
- Successor of St. Peter: Bishop of Rome: Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, He exercises a primacy of authority as Vicar of Christ and shepherd of the whole Church; he receives the divine assistance promised by Christ to the Church
- Church
- The name given the assembly of the People God has called together from the ends of the earth. In Christian usage, the word Church has three meanings: the People that God gathers in the whole world; the local church; the liturgical assembly
- General Judgment
- Preceded by the resurrection of the dead, coincident with the second coming of Christ in glory at the end of time, discloses good adn eveil, and reveals the meaning of salvation history and the providence of God by which justice has triumphed over evil
- Prophet
- One sent by God to form the people of the Old Covenant in the hope of salvation.
- Magisterium
- The living, teaching office of the Church, whose task it is to give as authentic interpretation of the Word of God, whether in its written form (Sacred Scripture), or in the form of Tradition.
- Apostolicity of the Church
- the church is founded on the apostles in that 1)she remains built on the "foundation of the apostles" 2)the church keeps and hands on their teaching, 3)she continues to be taught, sanctified and guided by their successors
- Holiness
- Prinicipally an attribute of God and the Church describing complete separation from the sphere of the profane. Individual human beings may be holy dedicating themselves completely to God and the Church. The perfection of charity
- Catholicity of the Church
- Literally "universal" in the sense of "according to the totality" or "in keeping with the whole,",The church is caothlic in the dual sense that it 1)possesses the fullness of the means of slavation and 2) has been sent by Christ to the whole human race
- Pilgrimage
- Journey to a sacred place undertaken as an act of religious devotion: the purpose may be to venerate a certain saint or ask some spiritual favor, beg for a physical cure or perform an act of penance, or express thanks or fulfill a promise
