ward off desire and can withstand painful emotions in difficult situations
Incontinent Character
struggle with ther appetative and lose battles, they are soft and have a weakness towards pleasure
Virtuous Character
do not struggle with their rational and appetative and are moderate
Aristotles Guidelines
-know yourself
-bent stick remedy
-always be weary of pleasure, it ll lead you astray
-avoid the extreme that is more opposed to the mean
