- comparison situation
- A problem that asks or tells how many times as many one amount as is another.
- commutative property
- Changing the order of factors doesn't change the product
- function
- a consistent relationship between two sets of numbers
- column
- A part of a table or array that contains items arranged vertically.
- equation
- A statement that two expressions are equal.
- area
- The amount of surface covered or enclosed by a figure measured in square units.
- variable
- a letter or symbol that represents a number
- equal groups
- Groups that have the same number of objects.
- product
- The answer to a multiplication problem.
- factor
- One of two numbers multiplied to find a product.
- width
- One dimension of a 2- or 3-dimensional figure
- array
- An arrangement of objects, pictures or numbers in equal columns and equal rows.
- length
- One side or edge of a figure or the measure of a line segment
- inverse operations
- Opposite or reverse actions that reverse or undo each other. Examples are addition and subtraction and multiplication and division.
- combination situation
- Where pairs and sets are counted; tables can be used to solve problems.
- row
- A part of a table or array that contains items that are arranged horizontally.
