Form header
Section that displays information that remains the same for every record. Appears once at the beginning of the form.
Detail
Section in a database form or report that displays the records.
Unbound control
Control on a database form or report that is not connected to a field in a table
Field
A category of data that make up records.
Field selectors
Located at the top of a database table, they contain the field name.
Record selectors
Located to the left of a database table record's first field.
Bound control
Control on a database form or report that is connected to a filed in a table. Can be used to display, enter, and update data.
Field properties
Specifications that allow you to customize a database table field beyond choosing a data type.
Primary Key
Field in a database table with a primary key field that contains the same data as that stored in the common field of another table.
Database management system
Any system for managing data.
Calculated control
Control on a database form or report that uses an expression to generate the data value for a field.
Entry
The data entered into a field
Design View
Where you design and modify tables in a database
Form footer
Section of a database form that displays information that remains the same for every record. Appears once at the end of the form.
Field Name
Name that identifies a field in a database table
Record pointer
The pointer that Access uses internally to keep track of the current record.
Datasheet View
