According to APTA's web site, what is its mission?
The mission of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the principal membership organization representing and promoting the profession of physical therapy, is to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of movement dysfunctions and the enhancement of the physical health and functional abilities of members of the public.

Identify the highest policy making body of the APTA. What is its representation?
House of Delegates. Representation is proportionate; however, the comple formula for determining the size of the HOD ensures that the total number of delegates will always be slightly above 400. In addition, each chapter has at least 2 delegates, each section 1 delegate, and each assembly 2 delegates. Delegates from sections, assemblies, and members of BOD may speak, but cannot vote.
What is meant by district levels?
District is the most local organizational unit in the structure of the APTA. They are more common in locations with high population densities. Membership is automatic where they do exist and may be based on location of residence or employment as provided in the bylaws of APTA.
What is meant by chapter levels?
Chapter must coincide with or be confined within the legally constituted boundaries of a state, territory or commonwealth of the US or District of Columbia. Membership is automatic and based on location of residence, employment, education, or greatest active participation. Requires dues for active and affiliate memebers. Provide participation at a state level and a proportionate representation at the national level.

Missouri having direct or referral access.
What are sections?
Is organized at the national level. Provide an opportunity for memebers with similar areas of interest to meet, confer, and promote the interests of the respective sections.
