- Upton Sinclair's The Jungle was about a life of a worker in a meat-packing plant and all the hardships and the unsanitary conditions in this plant. Unfortuantely, instead of inspirring people to act agaist this, this struck the people in the stomache - they were disgusted and outraged of the processes of meat-packing but not at life in this plant itself.

The analysts were writers and scientists who used schientific knowledge to approach socail city problems. They all fought for the same cause
