- Weight
- The response of mass to the pull of gravity.
- Mass
- The amount of matter or "stuff in an object."
- Volume
- The amount of space taken up by matter.
- Liquid
- A physical state in which a substance has a definite volume or shape. A liquid will flow into a container and can be changed into a solid by cooling and into a gas by heating.
- Chemical Change
- Process in which atoms of elements and compounds are rearranged into different groupings, producing a new substance. The process is normally accompanied by changes in physical properties and an exchange of energy, usually heat.
- Physical Change
- Change that does not affect the composition of a substance.
- Gas
- A physical state in which a substance has no definite shape or volume. A gas will fill a container of any shape.
- Mixture
- A blending together of different things.
- Soution
- A mixture in which atoms or molecules dissolve or become evenly dispersed into one another.
- Density
- The ratio of the mass to volume of a substance (how much stuff, in how much space).
- Matter
- Substance of which all objects are made.
- Chromatography
- A process by which components of a mixture are seperated by color.
- Solid
- Physical state in which a substance has both volume and shape with molecules held tightly together. A solid can be changed into a liquid by heating.
