- parallel lines
- lines in a plane that never intersect
- congruent figures
- figures that have the same shape and size
- parallelogram
- a quadrilateral in which both pairs of opposite sides are parallel. its opposite sides are congruent & its opposite angles are congruent
- congruent line segments
- line segments that have the same length
- scalene triangle
- a triangle in which no 2 sides are congruent
- right triangle
- a triangle with one right angle
- linear function
- a function that can be represented as a straight line on a graph
- dependent events
- the occurrence of the 1st event affects the probability of the occurence of the 2nd event
- nonlinear function
- a function which has a graph which is not a straight line
- rhombus
- a parallelogram with 4 congruent sides
- isosceles triangle
- a triangle in which at least 2 sides are congruent
- trapezoid
- a parallelogram with exactly 1 pair of congruent sides
- line of symmetry
- a line that divides a figure into 2 halves that match exactly when the figure is folded on that line
- independent events
- the occurrence of the 1st event does not affect the probability of the occurence of the 2nd event
- congruent angles
- angles that have the same measure
