- AMENDMENTS
- A change or addition to the Constitution or a document.
- CONSTITUTION
- The law and plan of a country's government.
- RATIFY
- To approve or accept.
- COMPROMISE
- Each side gives in a little to reach an agreement.
- IMPEACH
- To accuse a public official of doing wrong and to send that official to trial.
- VETO
- To reject or refuse.
- BILL OF RIGHTS
- A list of rights and freedoms for everyone (The first 10 amendments to the Constitution).
- FEDERAL SYSTEM
- A kind of government in which states share power with the national government.
- UNCONSTITUTIONAL
- Not in keeping with the constitution.
- CABINET
- A group of people chosen by the president to give advice.
- CHECKS AND BALANCES
- The power of the three branches of government is limited, or checked, by the other branches. The power is then balanced among the 3 branches
- CONGRESS
- A group that makes laws to help govern the nation.
- BILL
- An idea for a law.
- DELEGATES
- People chosen to represent and speak for all Americans.
