- rhyme
- The repetition of accented vowel sounds and all sounds following them in words that are close togehter in a poem.
- Repeat
- The repetition of words, phrases or verses in a piece of writing.
- personification
- giving human qualities to an inanimate object
- mood
- the overall feeling of a work of literature
- simili
- a comparision between two unlike things using the words like, as, than os resembles.
- allusion
- a reference to a statement, a person or an event from Literature, the arts, history, religion, mythology, politics, sports or science.
- Imagery
- Language that appeals to the senses of hearing, touch, taste and smell. These words create pictures in the readers mind.
- end rhyme
- The repetition of accented vowel sound and all sounds following them in words that are at the end of lines in a poem.
- alliteration
- The repitition of the same or similar consonant sounds at the beggining of words that are close together.
- metaphor
- a comparision of two things where one is said to be another
- assonance
- The repetition of vowel sounds in words that are close together.
