Terms

undefined, object
copy deck
An angle whose measure is less than 90 degrees
Acute Angle
A figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint
angle
A ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles
Angle bisector
The center of a circumscribed triangle. It is the point where the three perpendicular bisectors of the sides of the triangle intersect.
Circumcenter
A circle that is drawn around the outside of the triangle and contains all three vertices.
Circumscribed Circle
Lying on the same line
Collinear
Two angles whose measures have a sum of 90 degrees
Complementary angles
Having the same size and shape
Congruent
A statement that is believed to be true
Conjecture
Lying in the same plane
Coplanar
The point at the end of a segment or the starting point of a ray
Endpoint
A shape that results from a transformation of a figure known as the preimage
Image
The center of an inscribed circle. The point where the three angle bisectors of a triangle intersect.
Incenter
A circle inside the triangle that touches each side of the triangle at one point
Inscribed circle
To have one or more points in common
Intersect
The measure of the distance from one endpoint to the other
Length
An undefined term in geometry that is understood to be perfectly straight, contain an infinite number of points, extend indefinitely in two directions and have no thickness
Line
The two angles formed by the endpoint of a ray when the endpoint falls on a line. Two adjacent angles whose noncommon sides are opposite rays
Linear Pair
The point that divides a segment into two congruent segments
Midpoint
An angle whose measure is greater than 90 degrees, but less than 180 degrees
Obtuse angle
Coplanar lines or any two planes in space that do not meet, no matter how far they are extended
Parallel
A line that is perpendicular to a segment at its midpoint
Perpendicular bisector
Lines that intersect to form right angles
Perpendicular lines
An undefined term in geometry that is understood to be a flat suface that extends indefinitely in all directions
plane
An undefined term in geometry that can be thought of as a dot that represents a location in a plane or space.
Point
A statement that is accepted as true without proof
Postulate
A shape that undergoes a motion or transformation
Preimage
A part of a line that starts at a point and extends indefinitely in one direction
Ray
A transformation that flips the preimage over a line
Reflection
An angle with a measure of 90 degrees
Right Angle
A transformation that does not change the size or shape of a figure
Rigid transformation
A transformation in which every point of the preimage is rotated by a given angle around a point
Rotation
A part of a line that begins at a point and ends at another
Segment
A line that divides a segment into two congruent segments
Segment Bisector
Two angles whose measures have a sum of 180 degrees
Supplementary Angles
A transformation in which every point of the preimage moves in the same direction by the same distance to form the image
Translation
