Persephone
Persephone is the daughter of Demeter and the wife of Hades. One of Psyche's tasks is to ask for some of Persephone's beauty to give to Venus. (clint)
Pyramus
Pyramus killed himself when he saw a lion holding the bloody and torn cloak of his lover Thisbe. He assumed that she was dead and so he killed himself. (clint)
Argus
Argus was the hundred-eyed monster killed by Hermes that Hera used to guard Io. Hera used his eyes to decorate the feathers of the peacock. (clint)
Io
Io was one of Zeus' many mortal lovers. Hera was about to catch them so Zeus turned her into a cow. Suspicious, Hera asked for the cow as a gift and Zeus had to comply. Io had to walk across the continent bothered by a gadfly so that she could be human again. (clint)
Prometheus
Prometheus was the Titan who gave mortals fire. Zeus punished him by having a great eagle eat his re-growing liver everyday. (clint)
Orpheus
Orpheus was a great lyre player who tried to bring his lover back from the underworld. Hades told him she would follow him out of the underworld but if he looked back she would be taken back. He could not take it and he looked back and lost her. (clint)
Venus
Venus is the goddess of love and the mother of Cupid. She becomes jealous of the attention Psyche gets and so sends Cupid to curse her. When Cupid falls in love with Psyche and Venus finds out, she locks Cupid away and tries to destroy their love by giving Psyche impossible tasks that she somehow completes. (clint)
Styx
Styx is the dark river to the underworld. Psyche had to fill a flask with water from the river and was helped by an eagle. (clint)
Eurydice
Eurydice is the wife of Orpheus. She was stung by a viper shortly after they were married. Orpheus tried to save her from the underworld with the magic of his music but he failed. (clint)
Psyche
Psyche is the beautiful wife of Cupid. She was supposed to be married to a great and terrible snake but in reality it was Cupid. Cupid fell in love with her and the night she was going to kill the snake she only saw Cupid. Cupid woke up and ran back to Venus. Psyche then tried to get him back by performing many impossible tasks as the servant of Venus. (clint)
