- El mate
- The national beverage of Argentina, Paraguay, and Uraguay. The herbal tea is shared amoungst family and friends.
- El desayuno
- Most often, people prefer a light breakfast of bread or a roll, coffe or tea and possibly juice. Items such as cereal, milk, eggs, ham or sausage are less common.

- an arstist who painted "La Gran Tenochtitla'n" which shows el tianguis, the capitol of Tecochtitlan. his focus is mainly on Pre-Columbian life and civilizations.

- a colorful, hand-woven blouse worn by female descendants of the Maya. Each one is different depending on weaver and geographical location

- a dance that originated in the Dominican Republic in the nineteenth century.

- an artist from the dominican republic whose work usually focused on the people and culture of his homeland

- a place where people can access the internet that costs a small fee
- La Tomatina
- a gigantic food fight with tomatoes. Held in Bun~ol, Spain, is two hours long, and uses more that 130 tons of tomatoes.
- Carmen Lomas Garza
- an artist who is best known for her paintings of Mexican-American family life in native South Texas in the 1950's
- Sor Juana Ine's de la Cruz
- was born near Mexico City. She was one of the greatest intellectuals of her time. She wrote poetry, essays, music, and plays. She also stood up for women's eduacation rights. She became a nun at age 19 and had a library of several thousand books.
