copy deck
Cell Wall
(This is only in a plant cell) It is made of cellulose, which is a non-living material.
Nucleus
contains nearly all the cell's DNA and with it the coded instructions for making proteins and other important molecules
Mitochandria
"Power House"; Produces ATP. Most of the cells energy is produced within these rod shaped organelles.
Cytoplasm
A gel like substance inside the cell membrane, all organelles float in it. "soup"
Chromosome
Directs all activity of the cell for growth and production. It is made up of two nucleic acids (RNA & DNA)
Endoplasmic Reticulum
A network of canals. The Transportation center of the cell. Transports protein. It is the subway system of the cell.
Ribosomes
Protein factory of the cell. This is where proteins are produced following coded instructions from tne nucleus and found throughout the cytoplasm.
Chloroplast
Captures energy from sunlight and converts it into chemical energy through a process called photosynthesis.
Vacuole
Saclike structures that store materials such as water, salts, proteins, and carbohydrates making it possible for plants to support leaves and flowers.
Lysosome
Small organelles filled w/ enzymes to Breakdown/digests molecules.
