- Cell Wall
- (This is only in a plant cell) It is made of cellulose, which is a non-living material.
- Nucleus
- contains nearly all the cell's DNA and with it the coded instructions for making proteins and other important molecules
- Mitochandria
- "Power House"; Produces ATP. Most of the cells energy is produced within these rod shaped organelles.
- Cytoplasm
- A gel like substance inside the cell membrane, all organelles float in it. "soup"
- Chromosome
- Directs all activity of the cell for growth and production. It is made up of two nucleic acids (RNA & DNA)
- Endoplasmic Reticulum
- A network of canals. The Transportation center of the cell. Transports protein. It is the subway system of the cell.
- Ribosomes
- Protein factory of the cell. This is where proteins are produced following coded instructions from tne nucleus and found throughout the cytoplasm.
- Chloroplast
- Captures energy from sunlight and converts it into chemical energy through a process called photosynthesis.
- Vacuole
- Saclike structures that store materials such as water, salts, proteins, and carbohydrates making it possible for plants to support leaves and flowers.
- Lysosome
- Small organelles filled w/ enzymes to Breakdown/digests molecules.
