The Commutative Property for Addition and Multiplication

The order in which addends are added or factors are multiplied does not determine the sum or product.
Division and Subtraction are not commutative
(6X9)=(9X6) The Associative Property for Addition and Multiplication.

Associating three or more addends or factors in a different fashion will not change the sum or product.
Division and subtraction anre not associative
(3+7)+5=3+(7+5) The Distributive Property of Multiplication over addition.
 a(b+c)=(axb)+(axc)
 Inverse operations.

One undoes the other
Addition/subtraction
Multiplication/Division The Multiplicative Identity Property of One
Any number multiplied by one remains the same
 Multiplicative Identity
 1
 The Property of Reciprocals
Any number (except for 0) multiplied by it's reciprical gives 1
 Reciprical
1 divided by a number is the reciprical of that number
 Additive Identity Property of Zero
adding zero to any number will not change that number
 Additive Identity
 zero
