- cell division
- the process by which a cell divides into two daughter cells
- mitosis
- the first stage of cell division, divicion of the cell nucleus

- second stage of cell division, division of the cytoplasm
- chromatids
- two identical sister parts of a duplicated chromosome.

- are usually located near the middle of the chromatids although some lie near the ends
