Problem
The reason why we are doing the scientific experiment
Research
Gathering information about the subject of experiment from: library, internet, or an individual who an expert on the subject.
Hypothesis
An educated guess about how the experiment will turn out based on the information we have about the experiment.
Proceedures
Step by step instructions on how to complete the experiment. Identifies the Independant Variable, Dependant Variable, Constants, Groups, and trials.
List of Materials
Everything one needs to complete the experiment
Independant Variable
The variable in a Scientific Experiment that is changed by the experimenter.
Dependant Variable
The variable in a scientific experiment that is dependant on the Independant variable.
Constant:
That factor in a scientific experiment that remains the same throughout each group in the experiment.
Groups:
Experimental or Control:
Can be named by their independant variable.
Trials
The number of times you repeat the experiment.
Journal
The diary of what happened during the experiment. You write down everything you did and everything you observed.
Data
Tables and Graphs. The data collected in the journal is organized into tables and illustrated in graphs.
Conclusion
The hypothesis is found either true or false according to the data.
