- Keyboard
- A set of keys, that acts as an input device on a computer, word processor, or typewriter.
- Scanner
- An input device that takes in an optical image and digitalizes it.
- Printer
- A hardware devise that allows text and graphics to be printed on paper.
- Operating Systems
- A program the provides an interface between the user or application program and computer hardware.
- Mother Board
- The main circuit board in a computer that contains the central processing unit, the co-processor, device controllers, memory and expansion shots.
- Peripheral
- Any hardware attached to and controlled by the computer, such as the keyboard, monitor or mouse.
- Hardware
- A computer and the associated physical equipment directly involved in the performance of data processing or communication functions.
- ROM
- Memory whose contents can be accessed and read but cannot be changed. A memory system, that stores information permanently and is not lost when the computer is shut off.
- Input Device
- A piece of hardware that allows you to input data into the central processing unit of a computer system.
- Microphone
- A device used to convert sound waves(like your voice) electric energy.
- File
- A block of information stored on a disk or similar media.
- Hand-held computer
- A portable battery powered computer small enough to be carried in your pocket.
- Digital Camera
- A camera that encodes an image digitally and stores it for later reproduction.
- Drive
- A designation used to specify a storage location, the hard disk or floppy disk in use. Usually the letter A is used to designate a floppy disk, the letter C the hard drive and the letter D for the CD-Rom.
- Laptop Computer
- A small light portable computer that is batter operated.
- CD-R
- A compact disk on which you can write only once and thereafter is read-only memory.
- RAM
- The main system memory of the computer and is used for the operating system, application programs and data.
- Graphics Card
- A board that plugs into your computer to allow it to display graphics.
- Chip
- Contains the complete arithmetic and a logic unit of a computer
- Mouse
- An input device that is used for pointing or drawing. It has one or more buttons used to click, double click, drag and select items displayed on the computer screen. Input Device
- CD-RW
- A compact disk that is rewritable.
