A COMMONLY used expression not meant to be taken literally.
Ex. Play it by ear. - Idiom
- When a character tells a story using the words "I" or "me." The author is a character in his own story.
- First person point of view
- The writer is not a character in his story. He is an observer. The words "he" or "she" are used to talk about characters.
- Third person point of view
- The way a character looks and acts
- Characterization
- The reason behind a character's actions.
