- Variety or difference.
- alliance
- A close association of nations, formed to advance common interests or causes.
- backcountry
- A region of hills and forests west of the Tidewater.
- apprentice
- Assistant who is assigned to learn the trade of a skilled craftsman.
- export
- To sell goods abroad.
- triangular trade
- A trade route that exchanged goods between the West Indies, American colonies, and West Africa.
- Iroquois Confederacy
- A powerful group of Native Americans in the eastern part of the US made up of 5 nations: Mohawk, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga and Oneida.

- A group of civilians trained to fight in emergencies.

- A region of flat, low-lying plains along the seacoast.
