This president endorsed a progressive platform called the New Freedom which demanded stronger antitrust legislation, banking reform, and reduced tariffs. He also passed the Clayton Antitrust Act, Set up the Federal Trade Commission, and passed fhe Nineteenth Amendment.
Benjamin Harrison
Campaign was financed by large contributions from companies that wanted tariffs even higher than they were. Supported the bill for lowering the McKinley Tariff but refused to sign it because it provided for a federal income tax.
Warren G. Harding
Is considered one of the least successful presidents, During his presidency the Fordney-McCumber Tariff was adopted and the Teapot Dome scandel also occured.
George H. W. Bush
Promised the country that he would not impliment any new taxes. He said during his campaign that he wanted a kinder nation but fueled his campaign with negative adds.

The presidents policy during the Great Depression was to remain optimistic and to go about business as usual.

Granted Nixon a full pardon after the Watergate scandle. His plan the end inflation called "WIN" called for Americans to cut back on their use of oil and gas and to take other energy-saving measures.
William H. Taft
Recieved little credit for his accomlishments one of them being the busting of 90 trusts. He also passed the Payne-Aldrich Tarriff during his presidency.
Richard M. Nixon
During his campaign for office he promised to end the war in Vietnam. This president was also invovled with the Watergate scandle.
