- Science: Hippocrates
- Studied medicine and concluded that illnesses had physical causes and were not due to evil spirits or witchcraft
- Science: Black Death
- Also known as Bubonic Plague. Spread by fleas from infected rats. No cure and kill over 1/3 of European population in the 1300s
- ART: Stained Glass
- Usually in churches, shower scenes from the Bible
- ART: Sculpture
- Made from stone. Sculptures carved people from the Bible or mythical creatures (gargoyles, unicorns, dragos, Efraines, etc.)

- Intricate designs and drawings made by monks in religious books
- Scholasticism
- The study of the conflict between fith and reason. Maimonides and Averroes studied it. Thomas Aquinas conclude taht faith and reason could exist in harmony.

- Organized in the 1100s and 1200s. Oxford began at this time. Colleges only allowed men to attend.

- Criticized church corruption and translated the Bible into English
