- An extention of a bone making an angle to the rest of the structure or a branch
- Trochanter
- A large rough projection or a large bump
- Tuberosity
- A rough projection or a relatively larger bump on a bone
- Tubercle
- A small rounded projection or a relatively small bump on a bone
- Crest
- A prominent ridge or an elevated ridge of bone
- Line
- A low ridge or a smaller elevation than a crest
- Spine
- A pointed process or a short sharp projection
- Head
- The expanded articular end of an epiphysis, often seperated from the shaft by a narrower neck or a hemispheric projection that articulates with another bone
- Neck
- A narrower connection between the epiphysis and diaphysis or a connection below the head
- Condyle
- A smooth, rounded articular process or an irregular, smooth surface that articulates with another bone
- Trochlea
- A smooth, grooved articular process shaped like a pulley
- Facet
- A small, flat articular surface or a smooth, flat surface
- Fossa
- A shallow depression
- Sulcus
- A narrow groove or an elongated depression
- Foramen
- a rounded passageway for blood or nerve vessels or a shallow hole
- Fissure
- An elongated cleft
- Meatus or canal
- A passageway through the substance of bone or a tunnel or deep hole
