Vowel-r Combination Syllables

An r-combination syllable always has at least one vowel followed by an r. the r is always directly behind the vowel(ar, er, ir, or, ur, and ear), which gives it a unique sound, somewhere between a long sound and a short sound. Examples: star, bird, burn, earrings, work.
