- Abraham
- Head of his tribe. Founder of Judaism. Moved his tribe from UR to Canaan. Made a covenant(deal) with God.
- Yahweh
- Jewish name for god. All knowing, without fault, and without form.
- Moses
- Hebrew who wrote the ten commandments and led Israelites to Canaan. 2nd great leader of ancient Hebrew.
- Pentateuch
- Story of Moses; contains five books: Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Genesis, Deuteronomy
- Convenant
- A promise, deal or contract
- Synagogue
- Jewish place of worship
- Rabbi
- Spiritual leader of synagogue
- Talmud
- Collection of oral laws that were put into written form.
- Torah
- Contains first five books of the old testament
- Hebrews
- Ancient people that lived in Canaan later called the Jews
- Monotheism
- Belief in a single god.
- The Exodus
- When Hebrews left Egypt because of drought and threst of famine.
- The Ten Commandments
- Laws of Yahweh that became basis for civil and religious laws of Judaism.

- Religious teachers that believed they had been chosen as messangers to reveal God's will.
