Burkitt’s Lymphoma - involving the bone marrow - Characteristic cytoplasmic
vacuoles - small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL)
-
- low grade but not curable
- disease of the elderly
- like CLL but in lymph
- Mature B-cell - (CD19-23) co-expressing CD5, & κ or λ - follicular (small cleaved cell) lymphoma
-
- low grade but incurable
- t(14;18) -> too much Bcl2
- Age and HIV determine - 2nd most common lymphoma
- Mature B-cell (CD19, 20, 22) w/ CD10+ and κ or λ - Large Diffuse Cell Lymphoma
-
- intermediate grade but curable w/ RCHOP + Rituximab
- Most common type of NHL
- Can have B symptoms
- BCL6 (3q26-27) is common, but is better prognosis
- Transformation of germinal center centroblasts
- 1/3 extranodal - GI, brain - Lymphoblastic Lymphoma
-
- high grade
- Young, usually female
- Ass. w/ mediastinal mass
- Treated like ALL
- T-cell w/ CD3, 4, 8 and TdT - Burkitt’s lymphoma
-
- agressive - can get Tumor lysis syndrome -> renal probs
- abdominal mass - no EBV in US, but EBV in africa
- Ass. w/ t(8;14) -> c-myc
- like L3 ALL, w/ Mature B-cell phenotype - chromosomes usually involved w/ lymphoma
