- Gravity
- Pulls the plane down
- Airleron
- hinged main wing surface that helps control banking for a turn
- Stabilizer
- Any horizontal or vertical airfoil in the tail section used for keeping the planes flight steady
- Thrust
- Pushes the plane forward
- Camber
- The slight arching curve of an airfoil from the leading edge to the trailing edge
- Lift
- Pushes the plane up
- Thermal
- Rising column of warm air, caused by uneven heating of the earth or sea and sun
- Dihedral
- An incline wing angle from the center of the wing where the fuselage meet this helps stabilize the plane
- Flap
- A moveable airfoil hinged at the trailingedge of the wing closer to the fuselage, used for increasing lift or drag
- Rudder
- A moveable airfoil located at the rear stabilizer and used for controlling direction to the left or right
- Elevator
- A moveable hinged tail control airfoil that causes the planes nose to go up or down
- Drag
- Holds the plane back
