- Cardiovascular
- The abililty to continue exercising aerobilcally for prolonged period of time.
- Body Composition
- It is the distinguishing of body fact and lean body tissue and its distribution about the body.
- Reaction Time
- is the time it takes for a person to respond to a signal, e.g. a sprinter needs to have fast reaction times in response to starter's pistol.
- Flexibility
- Is the range of movement around a joint.
- Balance
- is the ability to control the body's position, e.g. standing on one leg and not wobbling over.
- Strength
- Is the ability of a muscle to exert force for a short period of time.
- Speed
- The ability to move the body or body parts quickly over a set distance.
- Muscualr Endurance
- A muscle or muscle groups ability to sustain repetitive contractions over a period of time (avoiding fatigue/ lactic acid)
- Power
- can be described as a 'fast strength' in that it is a combination of strength and speed, e.g. sprinting and long jump.
- Agility
- is the ability to change direction rapidly. It is used in situations where is it necessary to run around opposition team members or around the court.
- Co-ordination
- is the ability to perform complex motor skills such as gymnastics tumble routine.
