Leading
Refers to the amount of space between lines of text.
Landscape
When a piece of paper is horizontal and wider than is taller.
Pixels
The smallest discrete component of an image or picture on a screen (usually a colored dot); "the greater the number of pixels per inch the greater the resolution"
Minimize
To reduce the size of a spreadsheet or blank document
Layout Guides
The blue lines indicating the page margins.
Query
A user's request for information, generally as a formal request to a database or search engine.
Margins
The blank space bordering the written or printed area on a page.
Paste
To cover a blank area within a document with a graphic, picture or set of data.
Multimedia
Pressing text, graphics, video, animation, and sound through the use of a computer.
Kerning
To adjust between space characters in typeset text.
Merge
To combine or unite two sets of data.
Menu bar
Row of words across top of the screen that "pull down" to revel other commands.
Points
A unit of measure used for type. There are 72 points in an inch.
Portrait
When a piece of paper is vertical and taller than it is wide.
Paste board
Area outside the publication edges used to hold graphics, text, or other items until you are ready to place them.
