- Sizing handles-
- small black boxes, display around the image border. Used to increase or decrease the size of the image. It also indicates the image is selected
- Leader characters
- - create a solid, dotted, or dashed line that fills the space used by a tab character. It draws the reader's eye across the page form one item to the next.

- Keyboard shortcuts
- -a way to navigate your document quickly. They provide additional navigation techniques that you cannot accomplish with scroll bars. With this you can move the insertion point to the beginning or end of a word or line
- Nonprinting characters-
- another word for formatting marks
- Center-
- this option aligns text in the paragraph so that it is centered between left and right margins
- Anchor-
- image is attached
- Right alignment-
- it is used to align text at the right margin. The left margin, which is normally even, is uneven.
- 4. Pictures and clip art images inserted as inline images are treated like characters in a sentence. Thus, the result can cause awkward spacing in a document. To avoid this, you can format any graphic to move independently of the surrounding text by changing inline images

- mark specific locations on a line of text and are used to indent and align text. By pressing the tab key, you move to ________________.
- Text box-
- is a moveable, resizable container for text or graphics. It is useful to give text a different orientation form other text in the document because a text box can be placed anywhere in the document, just like a floating image
- AutoFit behavior
- adjusts the table's columns and rows to accommodate the text
- Formatting marks or nonprinting characters
- -When you press enter, spacebar, or tab on your keyboard, characters are placed in your document to represent these keystrokes. These characters do not print, and are referred to as
- Ctlr+ c, alt + ctrl + r ,.....etc-

- provided as a work area for complex drawings; however, when inserting and formatting simple drawing objects, it is more convenient to turn it off
- A text box-
- a drawing object and, as such, can be placed outside the document margin, resized, and moved.
