- Moroccan Crisis 1911
- long term cause of WWI. In 1905, Germany declared Morocco an independent state. In 1911, French had not left yet, so Germans sent out a gun boat to force French out of Morocco.

- became president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. he led the Viet Minh movement. and defeated french union in 1954 at Dien Bien Phu.
