- erosion
- Process of moving sediment from one place to another.
- crust

- core
- Center of the Earth's surface. It is the hottest layer of the Earth that has an outer part and an inner part. Great pressure keeps this layer very solid.
- plates
- Rigid blocks of crust and upper mantle rock. The movements of these cause movement on the Earth's surface.
- magma
- Hot melted rock underneath the earth's surface.
- volcano
- A mountain formed by lava and ash.
- earthquake
- Shaking of the ground caused by a sudden release of energy in Earth's crust.
- faults
- Breaks in the middle of a plate, or places where pieces of the crust move.
