- Reciever
- Computer that recieves a data transmission.
- Information Appliance
- a device that focuses on handeling a particular type of information an related tasks. Typicaldevice could be an ipod or MP3 player, or a hand held gaming console, and so on
- Sender
- computer that sends a data transmission.
- micrcomputers
- sometimes called a personal computer; used at home or at the office by one person; can fit on top or under desk
- supercomputer
- largest and fastest computer, capable of storing and processing temendouse volumes of data
- Data
- Information eneterd into the computer to be processed that cosists of text, numbers, soinds, and images.
- Smart phone
- Any electronic handheld divice that unctions as a mobile phone as well as a PDA or other information appliance
- Hardware
- The tangible, physical computer equipment that can be seen and touched.
- notebook/laptop
- similar to a microcomputer; hawever it is smaller and portable
- PDA
- aslo called a hand-held planer; samll portable type of computer
- Mainframe computers
- Large, powerful computers that are used for centralized storage, processing, and management of very large amounts
- Computer
- Electronic devise that recieves data, processes data, stores data, and prodeces a result.
- An electronic message sent from one preson's computer to another where it is stored until read by the recieving person.

- the lrgest network used as a communication tool.
- software
- Intangible set of instructons that tells the computer what to do.
- network
- connects one computerto other computer and peripheral devices.
