- George Washington
- president of the Constitutional Convention of 1787
- Baron de Montesquieu
- French philosopher who wrote about separation of powers and limited government in his book The Spirit of the Laws.
- William Paterson
- man who wrote the small state or New Jersey Plan
- John Zenger
- colonial era newspaper publisher who printed stories that were embarrassing to colonial leaders. They were true stories. His case helped lead to freedom of the press.
- Edmund Randolph
- Helped Madison write the Constitution; presented the Virginia Plan and a plan for a federal court system
- James Madison
- Virginian who wrote the bulk of the Constitution; often called the "Father of the Constitution"
- Richard Nixon
- POTUS #37 Served from 1969-1974. He was the only POTUS to resign. Best known for the Watergate Incident. He was NOT impeached. He probably would have been if he had not quit first.
- Alexander Hamilton
- rich New Yorker who signed the Constitution; believed that only the wealthy should have power in America; 1st Secretary of the Treasury under GW
- John Locke
- An English political philosopher who wrote in 1690 of the social contract (a promise by a ruler to protect the rights of his subjects)
- George Mason
- wrote VA Declaration of Rights; would NOT sign the Constitution because the original version did not have a Bill of Rights
- Thomas Jefferson
- 3rd POTUS. Primary author of the Declaration of Independence. Served as the US ambassador to France after Ben Franklin.
- Mum Bett
- Massachusetts slave who successfully sued for her freedom based on the principles of the Declaration of Independence.
- John Dickinson
- Delaware resident who wrote the AOC and asked Constitutional Convention members to replace it with the new Constitution
- Thomas Paine
- Great American patriot who published the pamphlets Common Sense and The American Crisis.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger
- Current liberal Republican governor of California. Well known for his roles in The Terminator and Kindergarten Cop. Married to Kennedy family member and television reporter Maria Shriver. Because he was born in Austria, Arnold cannot run for POTUS.
- Roger Sherman
- cobbler from Connecticut who helped write the Declaration of Independence and presented the Connecticut Compromise at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 in Philadelphia
- Mechelle Bryson
- Briarhill's only female principal. She served five years ending in July 2007 when she resigned to become the Director of Secondary Curriculum in Coppell ISD. Mr. Mattingly took over when she left. Don't forget to call her "DOCTOR". Dr. Bryson liked to say, "We are what we repeatedly do!" and "Do what is expected and then some!"

- Virginia resident who attacked Indian tribes and Jamestown in 1676 hoping to secure land; he died during Bacon's Rebellion of dysentery
- Ben Franklin
- legendary elderly Pennsylvanian who helped write the Declaration of Independence and helped large and small states compromise at the Constitutional Convention
- Daniel Shays
- Massachusetts farmer who started a 1786 rebellion; Shays' Rebellion showed how poorly the Articles of Confederation was working
- Jerry Jones
- Arrogant/obnoxious Arkansas oilman and owner of the Dallas Cowboys. His greedy tactics led to the theft of the land of numerous Arlington taxpayers through eminent domain to build the football stadium that some people jokingly call "Jerryworld'. He could do football fans a favor by resigning as general manager, firing Wade Phillips and refusing to bring in thug players such as Pacman Jones.
