increases level of dopamine in the brain; treats parkinsonism; carbidopa is a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor, given with L-dopa in order to increase the bioavailability of L-dopa in the brain and to limit peripheral side effects (arrhythmias), can cause dyskinesia following administration
Dantrolene
prevents the release of Ca2+ from sarcoplasmic reticulum, treats malignant hyperthermia (caused by the concomitant use of inhalation anesthetics and succinylcholine), and treats neuroleptic malignant syndrome
