- What were some similarities and diferences between villages?
- Similarities- people living there, surpluses settlements Diferences- (a city) government, more people, bigger surpluses, social classes, and more resources (a village) less people and surpluses and resources
- How did cities benefit from government?
- They were more organized
- How do we classify the parts of the Stone Age?
- The Old Stone Age- people used stone tools. Middle Stone Age- people used more refined stone tools. New Stone Age- people used metal and farmed.
- What developments allowed early nomads to move from Africa to many parts of the World?
- Fire and to follow animals
- What developments occured as societies grew into civilizations?
- Social Classes and trade developed
- What resources were needed for villages to become cities?
- Rich soil, large surpluses, a water source, and material to build shelter were needed
- What was the earliest known period of human culture?
- The Stone Age
- What effects did food surpluses have on people and populations?
- The effects were there would be extra food to trade and eat if needed and families could grow bigger

- oral traditions
- What did our human ancestors learn how to do to animals?
- domesticate
- How did peoples lives change when they began to grow their own food?
- They changed from having to hunt and gather food a couple of times a week to having a steady supply of food all year. Other people could do other jobs and people were able to settle
- What is the connection between farming and the growth of early cities?
- Some farm settlements grew into cities if they had the right resources and people could settle in one area.
- What did our human ancestors learn throughout the Stone Age?
- Hunitng, gathering, domesticating, tools, settling, and using fire
- How did the discovery of fire affect the hominids?
- It affected them by being able to ward of animals and to move to different climates.
- How can we learn about the people who lived before written hostory?
- By artifacts and fossils
- How did early hominids find food in the Old Stone Age?
- They hunted and gathered food

- How did prosperity leed to the development of socail classes?
- Growing trade links led to prosperity. People have more and less mony were treated differently
