- a chart that organizeds onformation about all of the kbnown elements according to theis properties. The original chart was developed by Dimitri Mendeleev in 1869.

- chemicals designed to kill organisms (insects, weeds, rodents) that are considered pests.

- the measure of how acidic or basic (alkaline) a substance is. pH stands for "Powers of Hydrogen"

- the process by which some organism use light energy to make nutrients.

- tiny organisms that are moved by ocean currents. Baleen whales eat these.

- the theory stating that the earth is broken into gain chunks of land or ocaen floor that can slowly move. Plate tectonics causes continrntal drift.

- any substance or from of energy that can cause harm to the enviornment and makt it unfit for use by organisms.

- strenght or how powerful a chemical is.

- parts per million. A unit used to express the concentration in a solution.
- ppb
- parts per billion. A unit to express the concentration in a solution.
- Precision
- the consistency of a set of measurements.
- Prediction
- a statement suggesting what might happen in the future based on a patterns in a data and experiences.
