- Empire that began around 850 BC and was known for their military skill.

- A particularly brutal Assyrian king who bragged of his violent conquests.

- Capital city of the Assyrian Empire
- Cyrus
- Persian king who expanded Persian empire. His legacy was his kindness toward conquered people. Allowed religious freedom.

- Assyrian king who could read in several languages and collected more than25,000 clay tablets from Fertile Crescent
- Cambyses
- Cyrus' son who ruled Persia for 8 years. He publicaly scorned the Egyptian religion.
- Medes
- United with the Chaldeans to defeat the Assyrian Empire
- Chaldeans
- Conquered the Assyrians with help from their allies. Established their capital at Babylon
- Darius
- Succeeded Cambyses after rebellion. Spread empire from Egypt to part of India. Only failure is he couldn't conquer Greece.
- Nebuchadnezzar
- A chaldean king who restored Babylon and made the hanging gardens.
- Satrap
- Governor who ruled locally in Persian Empire under Darius' rule.
- Royal Road
- Ran from Susa in Persia to Sardis in Anatolia a distance of 1,677 miles.
- Zoroaster
- Persian prophet who started religion with two spiritual armies. Zoroastianism was an early religion that competed with early Christianity.
- Kings Eyes and Ears
- Men who checked up on the administration of each province in every corner of the kingdom for Darius.
- Spartans
- Military, regimented people where individual was not important, Sparta was everything.
- Zhou Dynasty
- Dynasty that used Feudalism.
- King Minos
- He sacrificed children and legend says he kept a half human half bull monster called the minotaur.
- Phoenicians
- A seafaring people of southwest Asia, who around 1100 BC trading and found colonies throughtout the Mediterranean region.

- Nomads who invaded Egypt on chariots.

- Rulers of empire that come from one family.
- Hatsheput
- Woman pharoah who's achievements made Egypt more prosperous.
- Thutmose III
- Stepson of Hatsheput who was a warlike ruler.
- Nubians
- People of upper nile conquered by Thutmose III.
- Hittites
- Indo-European people who migrated from Russia to Mt. ranges near modern day turkey.
- Ramses II
- Pharoah that was great builder in Egypt. Last great Pharoah.
- The people of the Sea
- Unknown people who caused great destruction. May have been Philistines.

- Nubian Kingdom
- Piankhi
- Kushite King that overthrew Libyan dynasty and United Nile Valley.

- Land where Kushite's settled after Assyrian invasion.

- A military blockade to force a city to surrender.
- Sappers
- Soldiers who dug tunnels to undermine foundations of enemies walls.
