- Natural World
- Our world composed of matter, energy, atoms, and elements; can be tested, measured, and empirically observed using the 5 senses.
- Hypothesis
- A testable explanation of a question or problem about the Natural World. The test is the controlled experiment.
- Empirical Data and Evidence
- Information and facts gathered from empirical observations of controlled experiments that will either support or reject your hypothesis. (Do not use prove or disprove.)

- Physical descriptions using adjectives

- The logical and systematic approach to answering questions and solving problems about the Natural World using controlled experiments and empirical observations to gather irrefutable empirical data and evidence.

- The steps of the scientific methods and inquiry.
- Controlled Variable
- An environmental factor in a controlled experiment that a scientist purposely keeps constant.
- Controlled Experiment
- A test of the effect of a single variable on a system by changing it while keeping all other variables constant.
- Scientific Theory
- A comprehensive explanation about the Natural World that has been extensively tested, repeated, supported, verified, and accepted from using controlled experiments and empirical observations to gather irrefutable empirical evidence.
