- Absorb
- A blanket of gas that surrounds Earth
- Atmosphere
- A real or imaginary line that a spinning object turns around
- Axis
- A fossil formed or shaped within a mold
- Cast
- A Chunk of ice and rock that orbits the Sun in a long, narrow orbit.
- Comet
- The process in which water particles change from a gas to a liquid
- Condensation
- Solid rock that makes up the Moon's and Earth's outermost layers
- Crust
- A long period of time with little or not precipitation
- Drought
- Movement or vibration in the rocks that make up Earth's crust
- Earthquake
- The wearing away of soil and rock particles by waves, wind, running water, or glaciers
- Erosion
- Bursting or throwing forth
- Eruptions
- The process in which water particles change from a liquid to a gas
- Evaporation
- Any evidence of an organism that lived in the past
- Fossil
- A force that causes objects to move toward the center of the Earth, causes objects to have weight
- Gravity

- A fossil created by a print or impression
- Imprint
- A sliding down of a mass of earth or rock on a steep slope

- The layer of rock lying below the crust
- Mantle
- Rock whose form has changed by heat/pressure
- Metamorphic Rock
- A naturally occurring substance, neither a plant nor animal
- Minerals
- Two or more types of matter that are mixed together but keep their own properties
- Mixture
- A fossil clearly showing the outside features of the organism
- Mold
- The path an object follows as it revolves
- Orbit
- A satellite of the Sun
- Planet
- The adding of harmful substances to the water, air, or land
- Pollution
- Water in the atmosphere that falls to Earth as rain, snow, hail, or sleet
- Precipitation
- Quality of objects (example: texture, color, shape, size, buoyancy, magnetic attraction, etc.)

- A never-ending process by which rocks are changed from one type to another
- Rock Cycle
- Rock formed from bits or layers of rocks cemented together
- Sedimentary Rock
- A large region of the atmosphere where the air has similar properties throughout
- Air Mass
- The force put on a given area by the weight of the air above it
- Air Pressure
- A measure of how hot or cold something is
- Temperature
- An instrument used to measure temperature
- Thermometer
- A measurement of how much water vapor is in the air
- Humidity
- A boundary between air masses with different temperatures
- Front
- Statement of what is to come, prediction about weather
- Forecast
- A front where cold air moves in under warm air
- Cold Front
- A boundary between air masses where the warm air mass slides up and over the cold air mass
- Warm Front
- Condition of the atmosphere with respect to temperature, moisture, cloudiness: changes day to day
