If the amount of Sun's rays hits both the equator and the poles equally, describe the amount of light and energy reching both places.
The amount of light is equal.
The amount of energy is greater at the equater than at the poles.
This has to do with the angle of insolation. The angle is more direct at the equator causing stronger greater intensity(energy), as the rays reach the poles the angle decreases causing weaker intensity(energy)
What is angle of insolation?
the angle at which the Sun's energy reaches the Earth
What is a barometer?
a device for measuring air pressure
What affects the suns warming ability?
the angle at which the sun's rays hit Earth
What is air pressure?
the force put on a given area by the weight of the air above it.
What is atmosphere?
the blanket of gases that surrounds Earth
How does the angle of insolation affect how intense the energy is?
The more verticle( most direct) the angle of insolation/the more intense the energy.

The less verticle(the angle decreases)/the energy decreases.
What is insolation?
the amount of Sun's energy that reaches Earth at a given time and place
What is troposphere?
the layer of the atmosphere closest to the Earth's surface
If the poles recieve the same amount of light as the equator, why is it so much colder there?
The energy from slanted rays of the Sun is spread out and less intense than the energy from direct sunlight.

The same number of light rays reach the poles, but the rays have less energy, therefore, less brightness, and less heat.
