- Language acts as a screen or filter as we experience life.
- Terministic screen

- A message that uses a deductive argument in a full or partial syllogistic form to reach a conclusion that will influence audience members.

- Language used to appeal to reason as developed within a messagee to influence and audience.
- Logos
- An imperfectionmarked by urgency it is a defect and obstacle something waiting to be done which is other than it should be.

- Degree to which the chracters, actions and scenes in a narrative seem to resonate with life experiences held b an audience ember.

- The emergence of tenable compromise of multicultural conflict....acceptable cultural negotiation orcompromise
- Concordance
- a mmetaphor where the metaphier is grounded in an item, experience or process thats is known across cultures and across human history.
- Archetypal Metaphor
- The process that occurs when on audience member selects a fantasy them from another rehtor and extends, shares, or modifies that fantasy theme
- Chaining out
- Messages created for audiences (ranging from comic strips to novels, from websites to hollywood blockbuster films) are a means to provide a certian attitude toward recurring life situations

- Character ofreputation of a rhetor, especially as developed within a message to influence an audience.
- Ethos
- A message, or message segment, that offers a fictional or dramatized version of life that meets the needs of the rhetor who creates the message; fantasy themes can incorporate actual events and people as well as fictional ones.

- A fantasy theme that becomes common in a culture by repeated and differential use.
