- An endocrine gland w/right and left lobes on either side of trachea
- Isthmus
- mass of tissue connecting lobes of thyroid gland
- Pyramid lobe
- fingerlike projection of isthmus; in front of trachea
- Thyroid follicle epithelium
- microscopic sherical sacs make up most of the thyroid glands
- Follicular cells
- form walls of follicle (extend to lumen of follicle)
