- (Roman mythology) the Roman god of doorways and passages

- twin brothers; according to legend, founded Rome in 753 BC.
- Herculaneum
- an ancient Roman town, located in the territory of the current commune of Ercolano. It also was destroyed with Pompeii when Mt. Vesuvius eruppted in AD.79
