New Jersey said that each state got an equal vote and the Virginia plain said that the states got a certain amount of votes based on the state's population. They both had three branches.

This was the first constitution that gave power to the congress, and it didn't say there were three branches of government

-distance between the U.S. and Britain -poor leadership -the British didn't have as much of a motive
How was the Battle of Saratoga a turning point of the revolution?
It proved to other countries that they could stand up to the British troops and now the other countries became their allies and helped them (france and spain)

it has to be approved by a 3/4 vote by the legislatures
