- Radial Symmetry
- An animal plan that can be divided along any plane through a central axis, into roughly equal halves; an adaption that enables animals to detect and capture prey coming from ANY direction.
- Exoskeleton
- Hard waxy coating on the outside of some animals, includes spiders and mollusks; provide a framework for support for soft tissues, and for muscle attatchment.

- Organism that does'nt move from place to place but is attached to a surface.

- Binomial Nomenclature
- A 2-word system developed by Carolus Linnaeus to name species; 1st word identifies genus of org. the 2nd is a descriptive word that describes characteristics of the org.

- Internal skeleton of vertebrates and some invertebrates; provide supportfor internal organs, and acts as external brace for muscles to pull against.
- Invertebrate
- Animal that does not have a backbone.
- Phylogeny
- Evolutionary history of a species based on comparative relationships of structures and comparisons of modern life forms w/ fossils.
- Eubacteria
- Group og prokaryotes w/ strong cell walls and a variety of stuctures, may be autotrophs or heterotrophs.
- Protists
- Diverse group of multicellular or unicellular euaryotes that lack organ systems and live in moist env.; may be autotrophic or heterotrophc.
- Bilateral Symmetry
- Animals w/ a body plan that can be divided down its length into 2 similar right and left halves that form mirror images of each other.
- Classification
- Grouping of objects or infrmation based on similarities.
- Taxonomy
- Branch of Bio. that groups/names orgs. based on the study of there shared characteristics; bio. who study it are called taxonomist.
