- radial
- Pertaining to the radius, a bone in the lower arm (thumb side of the wrist).
- ramps
- Wheelchair ramps are used to allow a chair to be moved up an area instead of stairs.
- Range of Motion
- Range of movement of a joint, from maximum extension to maximum flexion, as measured in degrees of a circle.
- rationalization
- the cognitive process of making something seem consistent with or based on reason
- reality orientation
- communication technique that makes an older adult more aware of time, place, and person
- rectal
- Measurement of body temperature taken in the rectum
- respirations
- The process of taking in oxygen (inspiration) and expelling carbon dioxide (expiration) by way of the lungs and air passages, 12-20
- rigidity
- the physical property of being stiff and resisting bending
- scabies
- a contagious skin infection caused by the itch mite
- secretions

- TED Hose
- Thromboembolic Disorder; knee-high or thigh-high elastic stockings used to help prevent thrombi and emboli by compressing superfical veins and capillaries, redirecting more blood to larger and deeper veins, where it flows more effectively toward the heart
- TIA
- transient ischemic attack- mini stroke, sudden lack of blood to the brain, temporary
- trachea
- cartilaginous tube that conveys inhaled air from the larynx to the bronchi
- tracheostomy
- a surgical operation that creates an opening into the trachea with a tube inserted to provide a passage for air
- tuberculosis
- an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, usually attacks the lungs

- taking a temperature in the ear
