- Graphic
- A picture, drawing, object or chart used in a computer document.
- Indent
- To set (the first line of a paragraph, for example) in from the margin.
- Gray Scale
- Varying shades of gray.
- Default setting
- The way your computer was set up at factory.
- Format
- The arrangement of data in a specified style on a page. Ex: Block Letter Format
- Digital Camera
- A camera that encodes an image digitally and store it for later reporduction.
- Font Size
- The size of the text measured in points. You can choose a preset number up to 72, or you can type in any number. 72 points= 1 inch
- Cut
- To remove or take out a section of text or graphic. (can be pasted in another location)
- Font (Typeface)
- The design or appearance of the text.
- Credits
- Line of text that appears at the end of a movie indicating the people responsible for the creation of the production.
- Copy
- Makes a copy of the text/object and places it on the clipboard.
- Footer
- The area between the bottom margin and the bottom page used for textual information such as a page number that is usually repeated throughout a document.
- Desktop Publishing Software
- Software used to create a variety of publications such as flyers.
- Handles
- Small white circles at the sides and corners an object used to enlarge or reduce the size of the object.
- Justification
- An alignment option in which words are spaced so that then end of lines are even with both and left and right margins.
- Crop
- To cut off portions of a picture or graphic.
- Color Scheme
- Changes all colors in the publication.
- Input Device
- A piece of hardware that allows you to input data into the central processing unit of a computer system. Ex: keyboard, mouse...
- Dot Leader
- A period used to seperate strings of words.
- Icon
- A picture that represents various types of applications and files.
- Font
- A specific size and style of type within a type family. Ex. Times New Roman, 12 pts
- Italic
- A way of formatting text that makes it slant to the right. Text style
- Database
- A collection of data arranged for ease and speed of search and retrieval.
