- Dictator
- a ruler who is unconstrained by law, (a ruler who has complete power over a country.(ex: Hitler).
- Tribunes
- representatives of lower class (plebians), Officials with the power to refuse Senate actions that were not in the public interest.
- Veto
- a vote that blocks a decision, the executive power to prevent acts passed by the legislature from becoming law.
- Century
- a period of 100 years.
- Senate
- a group of 300 men elected to govern rome in the roman republic, Council that rules Rome.
- SPQR
- Senatus Populusque Romanus (The Senate and the People of Rome), senate & citizens are equal
- Plebeian
- an ordinary citizen in rome, working class, not rich, working class , common Roman citizin with little wealth or power
- Consul
- one of two chief leaders in the roman republic, an official from the patrician class who administered the laws of ancient Rome
- Phalanx
- a military formation used by the Greeks and Romans that depended on the unity of all soldiers, a military formation of foot soldiers armed with spears and shields
